  • Seafood exports seen lower than last fiscal

Due to subdued overseas demand following the impact of the second outbreak of Covid-19, Indias seafood exports in the current fiscal are unlikely to surpass last fiscals $6.67 billion mark. The emerging situation has forced many exporters to hold their stock as pandemic restrictions in the European Union have affected their business badly. This coupled with reefer containershortage and unavailability of sufficient mainline vessels from transhipment ports have hit delivery schedules, reports said.
