Nagaland recently launched its first air cargo services from Dimapur airport. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio officially flagged off the service, a joint initiative of the Department of Horticulture, Nagaland and Airports Authority of India with Air India and Indigo as airline partners, informed an official communiqu.

The Chief Minister said the introduction of air cargo service has fulfilled a long-felt need of the state as many of the states products go waste. The Regional Executive Director, Airports Authority of India, North East region, Mr M. Suresh, said AAI plans to construct a new terminal building, including cargo service terminal, at Dimapur with all modern facilities, the release added.
