Gateway Rail Freight Ltd (GatewayRail)and OceanNetworkExpress (ONE) flagged off the inaugural ONE double stack export train service from ICD Gurugram (Garhi Harsaru) to Pipavav Port on March 26, 2021. This train service will provide assured connection to export containers forthe TIP and PS3service (ONE Line)berthing at Pipavav Port on April 5, informed a release.

The flagging off ceremony was graced by Mr Takashi Ohgane, General Manager, Japan Sales; Mr Ashim Varma, Deputy General Manager & Branch Manager, Delhi; Mr Vivek Satyam, Associate General Manager (Sales); Mr Sunil Joshi, Senior Manager (Operations); and Mr Saurabh Talwar, Senior Manager (Customer Service) from ONE. Mr Ajay Verma, General Manager, Intermodal & Commercial; and Mr Shailesh Modha, Regional Sales Manager – Delhi NCR, represented APM Terminals Pipavav at the ceremony. The event was jointly hosted by Mr Rajguru Behgal, Head ICD Gurugram and Mr Ashish Jhunjhunwala, Head ICD Faridabad, along with Mr Lalit Lahori, Vice-President, RailTransportation,and Ms Samta Kamra, Deputy General Manager – Liner Relationships.

GatewayRail currently operates three weeklySakura import services carried by ONE through Pipavav Port for the GatewayRailICDs at Gurugram, Faridabad and Ludhiana. The Sakura family ofimportservicesare the pioneeringship-to-railservices ofGatewayRailfor ONE (earlier NYK) and are considered the industry goldstandard for dedicated intermodal service.GatewayRail operates similar services for all major carriers from Pipavav and Mundra Port cluster ofterminals.
