According to the Commerce Ministrys preliminary data, Indias exports grew by17.27 per cent to a value of $14.22 billion during March 1-14, 2021 as compared to the year-ago period, while imports increased by 27.77 per cent to $22.24 billion. The key sectors which recorded healthy growth in exports include engineering, rice, gems and jewellery. However, exports of leather, oilseeds and readymade garments of all textiles contracted during the period. Import of gold, electronic goods, pearls, precious and semi-precious stones also registered growth during the period, as per a report.
