  • Air cargo revenue share seen at 30 pc in 2021

Not only has air cargo been the one bright spot for the industry during the pandemic, but the sector is close to 5 per cent above pre-crisis levels and both load factors and yields have grown. Moreover, in 2021, IATA estimates that cargo will represent some 30 per cent of total revenues, a significant increase from the usual 12 per cent average. This year, cargo tonne-kilometres (CTK) will grow more than 13 per cent over 2020 levels and carriers will increase their share of cross-border trade. In other words, air cargo is growing faster than other modes of transport, emphasised a report.
